About Coach Alex:
Coach Wittenbaum has been connected to tennis his entire life. A Cincinnati native, he competed extensively in junior tennis before helping lead his high school team to consecutive Ohio State Championships in 2014 and 2015, earning All-State honors along the way. He went on to play collegiately at Marian University, where he was part of three teams that qualified for the NAIA National Championship tournament. During his career, he also helped the Knights capture three conference tournament titles and earned All-League recognition. He studied Business Management at Marian.
Following his graduation from Marian in 2019, Wittenbaum has coached full time since Fall of 2020. He has run programs in Indianapolis and Zionsville, and is the Head Coach for the Zionsville High School Girls Tennis Team. He has been named Conference Coach of the Year in 2024 and led his team to the State Finals in 2022. He has also had a multitude of students play at the college level and has privately coached state champions, college champions, and ITF level professionals. He achieved his USPTA certification in 2025. He is also USTA and Safe Play Certified.
As Head Tennis Professional at the Farmers Bank Fieldhouse, Wittenbaum introduced TCW Tennis, a holistic program designed to help grow tennis players on and off the court. The program was founded in 2025 and focuses on four key developmental aspects: Mental, Technical, Tactical, and Physical. Wittenbaum has been playing tennis and tennis has played a major role in his life, as his grandfather, PA Nilhagen is one of the most successful tennis coaches the city of Indianapolis has ever seen.
Coach Alex enjoys all sports, being with family and friends, and inspiring the lives of others in a positive way.
